Prof. Mortimer Kelly,
PhD
Forest Ecology, supervising research professor
Dr. Kelly heads the Forest Ecology research team and is also
a featured lecturer at area colleges and science symposiums. A
gifted lecturer, his
work has been featured in a number of publications specific to
the Forestry and Logging industries, and he is a popular speaker
on issues concerning the the
growth and regeneration of the Pacific Northwest rain forest,
with particular emphasis on the micro-ecology of the
forest-atmosphere interface in the uppermost layer of the forest
canopy. He specializes in mosses and beetles.
Dalton
Kersey
Forest Ecology, research team leader
Dalton Kersey is a Forest Ecology fourth year graduate
student and the leader of Dr. Kelly's research team. He is
currently focused on the recent mutated tree bark phenomenon of
old growth Douglas fir and hopes to get his name on a paper. He
also maintains this website.
Brittany Stephens
Forest
Ecology, botany specialist
Brittany Stephens is a Forest Ecology third year graduate
student and handles the plant and vegetation cataloging for the
team. Her specialty is identifying unusual mushrooms and her
work has been featured several times in her college science
department newsletter. Her family's company in Vernonia, Stephens
Logging, has a multi-year tree thinning and stand

Arnie
Ramos
Forest
Ecology, tech specialist
Arnie Ramos is a Forest Ecology second year graduate student
and handles the communications center and tech support. The CFRC
commissioned a proprietary radio communications network that
handles all relays between field teams and base camp up to a 10
mile radius; Mr. Ramos controls and maintains this network. He
also has a personal
website that occasionally offers additional CFRC news
and insight.

Alejandro Penfield, PhD (scheduled

Forestry
Dynamics Specialist, research professor
Professor Alejandro Penfield is a world renowned specialist
in the field of Forest Dynamics. He teaches full time at a
private college in Madrid and has published several works
concerning the dynamics of forest ecology in relation to ancient
and buried substances of a cosmic nature. He also enjoys the
paranormal and studies crop circles in his spare time.

Dewey
Lansing
Forestry Research undergrad
Dewey Lansing is a part time undergraduate research
assistant who keeps the Petri dishes clean and hauls the heavy
equipment. He also assists with logging specimens on busy days
and helps administer the CFRC computer intranet and website

Jeff
Collins
Environmental Sciences undergrad
Jeff Collins is a part time undergraduate research assistant
who files the paperwork and helps with the heavy lifting. He also
assists in handling the audio/video for Dr. Kelly's team meetings.
